Privacy notice
Last updated: 18 October 2026
This notice explains how TradeCover Ltd (“TradeCover”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses personal data when you use this website, contact us, or when we contact you about our services. We are a business-to-business supplier of construction labour and skilled trades. We aim to collect only what we need and to be clear about what we do with it.
1. Who we are
TradeCover Ltd is the controller of the personal data described in this notice.
- Contact: Daniel Foster, daniel@tradecoverltd.co.uk
2. What personal data we collect
When you contact us through the website or by email. Your name, company, job title (if given), email address, phone number, and the details of your enquiry, such as the trade needed, site location, start date and any message.
Business-to-business outreach. We may contact people at construction and related businesses who are likely to need labour. For this we use business contact details: name, job title, company, work email address, work phone number and company address. We obtain these from publicly available sources (such as company websites, Companies House and professional networking sites) and we may use business data providers to find publicly available business contact details. We keep a record of our contact with you, including any request not to be contacted again.
Website use. This website does not use analytics or advertising cookies. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
We do not ask for, and ask you not to send us, special category data (for example health information) through the website.
This notice covers clients and business contacts. Workers and candidates are covered by a separate candidate privacy notice, provided to workers when they register.
3. How we use it and our lawful basis
| Purpose | Lawful basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Responding to your enquiry and providing quotes, worker profiles and availability | Legitimate interests (responding to business enquiries), or steps at your request before entering into a contract |
| Supplying workers and managing our business relationship, including invoicing | Performance of a contract with your organisation; legitimate interests |
| Contacting businesses about our services (B2B outreach) | Legitimate interests (promoting our services to businesses that may need them). We have balanced this against your interests and only use business contact details relevant to your role |
| Keeping records, meeting tax, accounting and legal obligations | Legal obligation |
| Keeping our website and systems secure | Legitimate interests |
Every marketing email we send includes a simple way to opt out. If you tell us you do not want to hear from us, we will stop and keep a minimal record so we do not contact you again. We follow the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) when sending electronic marketing.
4. Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only where needed with:
- service providers who help us run the business, such as our email provider (Zoho Mail), website host (Cloudflare) and similar service providers;
- workers we place with you, limited to what they need to attend site (for example a site contact name and phone number);
- professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers;
- regulators, law enforcement or others where the law requires it.
5. International transfers
Where our service providers process data outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or standard contractual clauses (including the International Data Transfer Agreement or UK Addendum).
6. How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 12 months after our last contact.
- B2B outreach contacts who do not respond: up to 12 months after our last contact.
- Client and contract records, including invoices: 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to, to meet tax and legal requirements.
- Opt-out (“do not contact”) records: kept for as long as needed to respect your request.
After these periods, data is securely deleted or anonymised.
7. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data;
- ask us to delete your data;
- ask us to restrict how we use your data;
- object to our use of your data based on legitimate interests, and to object at any time to direct marketing (we will always stop direct marketing when asked);
- ask us to transfer data you gave us to another organisation, where applicable.
To use any of these rights, email daniel@tradecoverltd.co.uk. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including access controls, secure passwords and two-factor authentication on our business accounts, and limiting access to people who need it.
9. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we handle your data, please contact us first and we will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or call 0303 123 1113.
